  1. I heard the voice of Jesus Say,—
    'Come unto me and rest;
    Lay down thy weary one, lay down
    Thy head upon my breast!'
  2. I came to Jesus as I was
    Weary, and worn and sad;
    I found him in a resting place,
    And he hath made me glad.
  3. I heard the voice of Jesus say,—
    'Behold I freely give
    The living water; thirsty one,
    Stoop down and drink, and live!'
  4. I came to Jesus, and I drank
    Of that life giving stream;
    My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
    And now I live in him.
  5. I heard the voice of Jesus say,—
    'I am this dark worlds light;
    Look unto me, thy morn shall rise,
    And all thy day be bright!'
  6. I looked to Jesus, and I found
    In him my Star, my Sun;
    And in that light of life I'll walk,
    Till travelling days are done.
    Amen.

78 My God, Accept My Heart This Day
(EVAN )
  1. My God, accept my heart this day,
    And make it always thine;
    That I from thee no more may stray,
    No more from thee decline.

  2. Before the cross of him who died,
    Behold, I prostrate fall;
    Let every sin be crucified,
    Let Christ be All in All.

  3. Let every thought, and work, and word,
    To thee be ever given;
    Then life shall be thy service, Lord,
    And death the gate of heaven.
    Matthew Bridges, 1800
