IV.), 3 May 1461. He, having in. before 1470, Joan, the childless widow of Kichard Piqgot, of Londou,(<') sister and heir of Sir Robert de Welles, being only da. of Richard (dk Wbllbs), Lord Wkllbs and Willodqhby, both abovenamed, obtained in that year a grant of the lands which his said wife would have inherited, had it not been for the attainder^ of her said father and brother, and was sum. to Pari, aa a Baron from 15 Nov. (1482), 22 Ed. IV. to 9 Dec (1483), 1 Ric. III. by writs directed ** Richardo Hastingei de WdU$, ChVr" becoming thus LORD WKLL£S. As such, he was at the coronation of llio. III., 6 July 148S(') He appears, however, to have styled himself LORD WILLOUGHBY,(s) to whidi last Barony his wife, had it not been for the attainder, would have been equally entitled. The will of his widow (the heiress of the Baronies of Welles and Willoughby), dat. 19 March 1504/5, was pr. 7 April 1505. Both were hur, at Qreyfriars, London. M.I. At his death the Barcny of Wdltt, if it be oonsidered (as is most probable), a creation de novo, originating in his writ of summons of 1482, became exiind, but the representation of the old Barony^ subject to the attainder of 1475 (which fauaus never (») Tea, Ebor.
