He m. 7 July 1730, at St Giles-in-the- l'ields, Mary, the only child that had issue of John (Montagu), Duke of Montagu, by Mary, da. o'f the famous John (CHUHcmt.1.), Duke of Marlborough. On the death of his wife's Father, s.p.m. 15 July 1749, lie assumed the name of Montagu. Chief Justice in Eyre, north of Trent, 1742-52; Constable of Windsor Castle, 1752. El.
