Will pr. 31 July 1800, XIV. 1860. 14. John (Elphinstone-Fleeming), Lord Elphinstone [S.], cousin and h., being only s. and h. of Admiral the Hon. Charles Elphinstone-Fleeming, by Donna Catalina-Patilina Alksandko, a Spanish lady, which Charles was next br. to the 12th Lord, and (having inherited in 1799 the estates of Cumbernauld and Biggar, eo. Dumbarton, beiug those of his mother's family, under an entail of John, Earl of Wigton [S.], dated 1711) assumed the name of Fleming after that of Elphinstone, and d. 30 Oct, 1S40, aged 76. William Fullerton-Elfhinstone (by Elizabeth, da. of William Fullerton), who was yr. br. of the 11th and 3d s. of the 10th Lord, and who d- 3 May 1834, aged 89. He was b. 18 Nov. 1828 ; was in the royal navy, retiring 1S70 with the rank of Captain ; 5th class of the Turkish order of the Medjidie ; grand cordon of the Portugese order of the Conception. Rep. She was 4. 28 Dec. 1888. Family Estates. — These, in 1S83, did not amount to 2,000 acres, being those devised by John Fullerton, of Carberry, to his niece Elizabeth, wife of the Hon. William Elphinstone, afterwards Fullertok-Elphinstoke, grandmother of the 15th Lord Elphinstone. Principal Residence. Carberry Tower, near Musselburgh. ' ELTHAM. i.e., "Eltham, co. ( a ) On his death the estates and representation of the Fleming family devolved on his sisters and coheirs, of whom the eldest, Clementina, m. Cornwallia (Maude), 1st Earl de Montalt.
