On the death of his grandfather, 1723, he inherited the estate of Belhouse, in Aveley, Co. Essex, where he chiefly resided, taking little part in politics. More than 30 years after- wards he buc. his mother in the Peerage, and took his seat in the House 13 Nov., 1755. He m. before 1740, Anna Maria, sister of Charles, 1st K.wtl. Camden, da. of Sir John Pratt, one of the Justices of the King's llench, by his 2nd wife Elizabeth, da. of liev. Hugh Wilson. He d s.p.s. legit. ('>) 3 Jan., 1786, a >ed 6!), and was bur. at Aveley. Charles Kopek, by Gertrude, sister and coheir of John Trevor, of Glyude, co. Sussex, which Charles, was 2d. s. of Anne, suojure Baroness Daore, above named, being her eldest son by her 2nd husband, Lord Teynham, and d. v.m. 4 Feb. 1754. He m. 4 Dec. 1819, Barberiua, widow of Valentine Henry Wilmot, da. of Admiral Sir Chaloner Ogle, 1st Bart., by Hester, da. of John Thomas, Bishop of Winchester. He d. s.p. 21 March 1851, at the Moo afsd., aged 77. His widow, who was authoress of some poems, dramas, &c, d. 17 May 1854, in her 87th year, iu Chesterfield street, May Fair. Will pr. June 1854. XXI. 1851. 21. Henry Otway (Trevor) Lord Dacre, br. and h., b. 27 July 1777. He entered the army in 1793, serving in Flanders ; was at Copenhagen in 1807 ; in the Peninsula with the 1st batt. of the Cold- stream Guards, 1808-12; was in command of that reg. at Salamanca, for which he received the gold Medal, having also the silver medal for his services at Talavera and Busaco. C.B. 1815 ; General in the army 1851 ; Col. of the 3lBt Foot. In pursuance of the will of John (Trevor- Hampden), 3d and last Viscount Hampden (whorf. 9 Sept. 1824), he by royal lie. 18 Nov. 1824, took, for himself alone, the name of Trevoii iu lieu of that of Brand.
