He did homage for his brother's lauds, 28 Oct. 1310. and was sum. to Pari, as a Baron (LORD SAINT AMAND) from 22 March (1312/31,22 Ed. II., to 10 Oct. (1325), 19 Ed. II. He is sometimes said to have m. a da. (called Joaue) of Hugh (LB Dbspksceb), Earl of Wincbkstbr, but her existence seems problematical. He d. before 30 Jan. 1329/30. III. 1329 3 2. Brit.") is "from St. Amand-des-hautes- terres, near Louviers, or St. Amand-les-Valettes, near St. Lo, in Normandy. The Baronial family traced to Almaric de St. Amand, Lord of Liskeard, co. Cornwall, temp. Hen. III." J. H. Round Writes, " this family was descended from Almaric de St. Amand who received from Henry III. (to whose Bon, Edward, he had been sponsor), a grant of Gormanston (as the laud of " Ua-gonnan " [i.e., O'Gorman, Bee ' Lynch," p. 159]), Ireland, 1 June 1229. His descendant sold it to Lord Gortuan- Bton's ancestor." ( b ) This Almaric was " amerced in the Court of King's Bench at a Baron " (1279-80), 8 Ed. I. [Maddox'f Bar.
