He m. secondly, 3 Jan. 1874, at Newtown Auner, co. Tipperary, Grace, 2d. da. and coheir of Ralph BSHKAt-OSBOBH*, formerly Hkhnal, by Catherine Isabella, sister and h. of Sir William OsuoJtNE, 10th Bart. [I.], all of Newtown Auner afsd. [Charles Victor Albert Aubrey De Vere Beauclerk, styled Earl OF Burford, 1st s. and h. ap., by first wife, b. 20 March 1S70, in the apartments of of his maternal grandmother, at St. James' Palace, the Queen and the .Prince of Wales, being two of his Sponsors at his baptism ; an officer of the Life Guards], Family Estates. — These, in 1S83, consisted of 5,255 acres in Lincolnshire, and 3,743 ID Notts, Total 8,988 acres, worth 110,055 a year. ( b ) There is a good account of her career in the obituaries of the Ann. Keg. and the Gent. Mag. for 1837. Her "Memoirs " (2 vols.), by Mrs. Cornwall Barry, were pub. in 1839. She made her first appearance on the London stage, 31 Jan. 1795, as Lydia Languish, in Sheridan's "Jiivals" and her last, as " Violaute," in 1815, not long after she had m., 8 Jan. 1815, as his second wife, Thomas Coutts, the Banker, who d. seven years later, aged 87, leaving her (by will pr. 24 March 1S22, at £600,000), his universal legatee. This fortune she for the most part left to Mr. Coutts's descendants by his first wife, his grand-daughter, Angela, afterwards suo jure Baroness Burdefct-Coutts (yet. da, of Sir Franois Burdett, Bart.) obtaining the bulk thoreof. She left, however, £10,000 a year to her second husband but the total of her residue amounted, "it is confidently stated to £1,800,000," which is accounted for by her expenditure having been about £40,000 a year less than her income. Sho, whose beauty was much admired, has been painted by Komncy.
