Sq., Georgiaua, only surv. da. and h. of (a) This was under the will of his maternal uncle, Harbord Harbord, formerly Cropley, of Guuton afsd., who </. s.p. 23 Jan. 1711/2, aged 65, devising to him that estate, which he himself had inherited from his maternal uncle, John Harbord, mentioned in 1710, at which date he assumed the surname of Harbord, in lieu of that of Cropley. ( b ) A pedigree of the family of Harbord is in Baker's " Northamptonshire," vol. ii, p. 172, under " Grafton," by w hich it appears that, as two out of the four sons of Sir Charles Harbord left issue, the representation of that family does not vest in the Lords Suffield. The 3d sou, another Sir Charles Harbord (who d. unm.), was blown «|> at sea in 1672. ( c ) Elizabeth, the other da. and coheir, m. Thomas (Egerton), 1st Earl of Wilton, and rf. s.p.ui. C) His elder br. Charles, b. 21 July 1761 d. an infant and was bur. 12 Oct. 1762 at Middleton, co. Lancaster. (°) He was from 1S22 a zealous advocate for the abolition of the Slave-trade, for the reform of Prison discipline, and the relaxation of the game laws. He was also a gieat proficient in athletics.
