He d. suddenly of heart disease, at his residence in Oamaru, New Zealand, 3 Dee. 1S88, and was bur. there on the 6th. () In this inscription the name is given as " Ogilvy-Grant," tho' the peerages generally have it as " Grant Ogilvie." It commences " Sir John Charles Ogilvy-Grant, Chief of the clan Grant, 7th Earl of Seafield," kc. ( c ) She is one of the three Dow. Countesses of Seafield now [1895] living.
