Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the $*¤vb¤¤ ?-¤h¤¤¢¤- Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the P°”"°”"'°’°““°d' pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Stephen P. Choate, late of Company K, Twenty- seventh Regiment Michigan Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of thirty dollars per month in lieu of the pension now received by him. _ Approved, March 3, 1899. McGraw. Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Homer ,—,,,i°,‘3,§$‘,‘§,‘{,',§‘},“,,}{°,§',f,,_°* D. McGraw, of Lee County, Alabama, the sum of one hundred and thirty dollars and ninety cents, to reimburse said McGraw for the like sum of money which he, as the owner and operator of distillery numbered thirty-nine, situated near Opelika, Lee County, Alabama, on the iburth day of April, eighteen hundred and ninety-six, sent to the collector hir the district of Alabama, at Birmingham, Alabama, to pay the tax on three packages of spirits, numbered ninety-six, ninety-seven, and ninety-eight, at that time in the bonded warehouse of the aid Homer l). McGraw, but before the said tax—paid stamps were received by said McGraw, and before said spirits were released from said warehouse, such warehouse was consumed by tire, supposed to be of incendiary origin, and said three packages of spirits for which said stamps were bought were consumed, and the stamps never canceled.
