Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War is William H·Fcm. hereby authorized and directed to correct the military record of William d,$f,{‘,tQg h°"°“‘m° H. Fore, a private in Battery M, in the Second Missouri Light Artillery Volunteers, by removing therefrom the charge of desertion, and substitute therefor the following, to wit: “May thirteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, being under fifteen years of age, absented himself without proper authority, and returned to his home, and was detained there by his parents until February, eighteen hundred and sixty-tive, when he went to Illinois, and on February eleventh, eighteen hundred and sixty-tive, enlisted in Company C, in the One hundred and fifty-fourth Regiment of Illinois Infantry Volunteers, under the name of James · Keeney, alias James H. Keeney, and served faithfully to September sixteen th, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, when he was honorably discharged the service": Pro/vided, That no pay, bounty, or allowance rims. shall accrue to him by virtue of this Act. Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the P°“‘°"'“°'°*"°°‘ pension roll, subject to the general pension laws, the name of Lucretia C. Waring, widow of the late Lieutenant Howard S. Waring, of the United States Navy, and pay her a pension at the rate of thirty dollars a month, in lieu of any other pension. Approved, March 3, 1899.
