Pension.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of James S. Lauderdale, late ensign, Captain Carver’s company, Mississippi Mounted Volunteers, Sabine Indian disturbances, and pay him a pension at the rate of eight dollars per month.

Military record corrected.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War be, and hereby is, authorized and directed to correct the military record of William B. Thompson, Company C, Sixty-third Regiment Indiana Infantry Volunteers, by removing therefrom the word "deserted" and substituting therefor the words "absented himself, without proper authority, and was, on writ of habeas corpus, by the civil authorities, in September, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, discharged at Indianapolis, Indiana, being under twenty-one years of age;" Proviso
No pay, etc.Provided, That no pay, bounty, or allowance shall accrue to said Thompson by reason hereof.

James T. Kilbreth, George R. Bidwell, and Nevada N. Stranahan.
Credit in accounts of.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following-named, to wit, James T. Kilbreth, George R. Bidwell, and Nevada N. Stranahan, holding successively the office of collector of customs for the district and port of New York during the period hereinafter stated, and their estates are hereby relieved of and discharged from all liability to the United States by reason of the losses to the Government aggregating eight thousand eight hundred and twenty-one dollars and thirty-four cents occurring through the defalcations and embezzlements at various times from July first, eighteen hundred and ninety five, to February sixth, nineteen hundred and three, of Byram W. Winters, a clerk then in the customs service, in charge of the United States customs bureau at the post-office building in the city of New York and of the collection of duties on packages received through the foreign mails, such losses having occurred without default or negligence of the said collectors of customs; and further, that in aid of the purpose hereof, the proper accounting officers be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to credit the said sum of eight thousand eight hundred and twenty-one dollars and forty-four cents in the settlement of the accounts of the said Nevada N. Stranahan, collector of customs for said district and port, the said officer having charged himself in said accounts with the entire amount.
