1489 CHAP . 403 .-An Act Authorizing the Secretary of the Treasury to convey certain land to the city of Asheville, North Carolina, for park and street purposes . Be it ena cte d by the Sen ate and House o f Rep res ent ati ves o f the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and direct ed to convey by quitclaim deed to the city of Asheville, North Carolina, the land in said city known as the old post-office site, together with the building thereon, to be used exclusively for public park and street purposes . If the city of Asheville fails to use such land for the purposes herein pro- vi ded, or atte mpts to ali enate such land, title thereto sh all revert to the United States . SEC. 2. It shall be expressly stipulated in such deed that notwith- st anding the t ransfer of title, the United Stat es shall be permitted to occupy, without payment of rent to said city, the building now lo cated on suc h post-offi ce site unt il such tim e as the ne w post-offi ce b uildin g now under cons truct ion in said city shall be c omplet ed an d made available for use . [Public, No . 791 .] Be it en act ed by the Senate and Hou se o f Representatives o f the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That Porto Rico shall be entitled to share in the benefits of the Act entitled "An Act to provide for the promotion of vocational education
- to provide for
cooperation with the States in the promotion of such education in agriculture and the trades and industries ; to provide for cooperation with the States in the preparation of teachers of vocational subjects
and to appropriate money and regulate its expenditure," approved February 23,1917, and any Act amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto, upon the same terms and conditions as any of the several States . There is authorized to be appropriated, out of any money in t he Tre asury not o therw ise a ppropr iated , for the f iscal year endin g June 30, 1932, and annually thereafter, the sum of $105,000, to be a vailab le fo r allo tment unde r such Act to th e isla nd of Porto Rico
Pr ovided, Th a t of the sum authorized to be appropriated for the pur- poses of this Act, the sum of $30,000, if expended, shall be expended for the salaries of teachers of agricultural subjects ; the stun of $30,000, if expended, shall be expended for the salaries of teachers of home-economics sub jects ; th e sum of $3 0,000 , if expend ed, s hall be expended for the salaries of teachers of trade and industrial sub- jects ; and the sum of $15,000, if expended, shall be expended for t he mai ntena nce of teac her t rainin g, in cludi ng sup ervis ion . SEC. 2 . Porto Rico shall be entitled to share in the benefits of the Act entitled "An Act to provide for the promotion of vocational rehabilitation of persons disabled in industry or otherwise and their return to civil employment," approved June 2, 1920, and any Act am endatory thereof or supplementary thereto, upon the same terms and conditions as any of the several States . There is authorized to be appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $15,000 annually for a period of two years, c ommen cing July 1, 1931, to be available for allotment under such Act to the island of Porto Rico .
