155 CHAP. 132 .-An Act To amend sections 476, 482, and 4934 of the Revised April 11, 1930 . Statutes, sections 1 and 14 of the Trade-Mark Act of February 20, 1905, as [n.R. 10076.] am end ed, and section 1 (b) of the Trade-Mark Act of Mar ch 19, 19 20, and for [Public, No . 112.] other purposes . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Un ited Stat es of Ame rica in Congress assembled , That section 476 vo n4, Of loe. of the Revised Statutes, as amended (United States Code, title 35, U .S . C.,p.1165. section 2), is amended to read as follows : "SEC. 47 6. There shall be in the Patent Office a Commissioner of Commissioner, assist- ants, etc . Patents, one first assistant commissioner, two assistant COmm1S- R. S.,sec .476,p80, sioners, and nine examiners in chief, who shall be appointed by the " Post, p. 209 President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate . The first assistant commissioner and the assistant commissioners shal l perform such duties pertaining to the office of commissioner as may be assigned to them, respectively, from time to time by the Commis- sioner of Patents . All other officers, clerks, and employees author- Other officers, etc . ized by law for the office shall be appointed by the Secretary of Commerce upon the nomination of the Commissioner of Patents, in ac corda nce with exis ting law ." SEC. 2,. Section 482 of the Revised Statutes as amended (United As sis tant co mmis - sioners . States Code, title 35, section 7) is hereby amended by substituting a ended 44, p. 1336, the words assistant commissioners for the words ass istan t cor n- U. S.C.,p .11 65 . missioner ." in conformity with the provisions of section 1 of this bill . SEC. 3. Section 4934 of the Revised Statutes, as amended (United ed o1 .42,p .3 93 ,am en d- States Code, title 35, section 78), is amended to read as follows :

" In design cases : For three years and six months, $10 ; for seven years, $15 ; for fourt een years , $30 . "On every application for the reissue of a patent, $30. "On filing each disclaimer, $10 . "On an appeal for the first time from the primary examiners to the Board of Appeals, $15. "On every appeal from the examiner of interferences to the Board of Appeals, $25. "For uncertified, printed copies of specifications and drawings of Un certifi ed copi es patents, 10 cents per copy : Pro vided, That the Commissioner of To Provisos public libraries . Patents may supply public libraries of the United States with such E-,change for foreign copies as published, for $50 per annum : Provided further, Tha t the patents . Commissioner of Patents may exchange copies of United States patents for those of foreign countries . "For copi es of re cords mad e by the Pate nt O ffice , ex clud ing pr inted cop ies, 10 c ents per hundr ed w ords . "For each certificate, 50 cents . "For reco rding ev ery assig nment, ag reement, power of attorney , me cording assign- or other paper not exceeding six pages, $3 ; for each additional two pages or less, $1 ; for each additional patent or application included or involved in one writing, where more than one is so included or involved, 50 cents additional .
