CHAP. 130 .-An Act Granting the co nse nt of Con gre ss to ag ree men ts or compacts between the States of Oklahoma and Texas for the purchase, construc- tion, and maintenance of highway bridges over the Red River, and for other purposes . Be it enacted by the Senate and House o f Representatives o f the United States of America in Congress assemb led, That the consent w of Congress is hereby granted to any agreements or compacts that have heretofore been or may hereafter be entered into by and between the State of Oklahoma, or the highway department thereof and the State of Texas, or the highway department thereof, provid- ing for the purchase or condemnation and maintenance of any exist- ing highway bridge over the Red River, or for the construction an d maintenance of additional highway bridges over the Red River, at such locations as have been or may be selected and agreed upon by the two States or their highway departments, for the purpose of connecting the highways of the State of Oklahoma with the high- ag s of the State of Texas . SEC. 2. If any part of the bed of the Red River where it adjoins the bound ary line between th e States of Oklahom a and Texa s is public land belonging to the United States, or is unallotted Indian lands reserved for or belonging to any of the Indian tribes under any treaty between the United States and such Indian tribes, rights of way over such lands for the construction and maintenance of public highways and for the location, construction, and maintenance of necessary piers and abutments for any bridges that have been or may be pu rchased, condemned, or const ructed and maintaine d on such highways, are hereby granted to the State of Oklahoma and the State of Texas at such locations as have been or may be selected and agreed upon by and between said States . SEC . 3 . There is hereby conferred upon the States of Oklahoma and Texas or the highway departments thereof acting jointly, all such rights and powers to enter upon lands and to acquire, condemn, occupy, possess and use real estate needed for the location, construc- ti on, and maintenance of such highways and for the purchase, con- demnation, construction, and maintenance of any bridges thereon in either of such States as are possessed by the State in which such real estate is situated, upon making just compensation therefor to be as certained and paid according to the laws of such State, and the proceedings therefor shall be the same as in the condemnation or e xprop riati on of priva te pr operty for public purp oses in suc h Sta te . SEC . 4 . The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved . Approved, April 10, 1930 . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That hereafter the t wo and one- half dollar gold piece shall not be coined or issued by the T reasury .
