Albumen . Animals for breeding . PAR . 1606 . (a) Any animal imported by a citizen of the United Post, p . 674. States specially for breeding purposes, shall be admitted free, whe ther int ended to be used by the i mporter himself o r for sa le for such purposes, except black or silver foxes : Provided, That no such ' Provisos . Registered breed animal shall be admitted free unless pure bred of a recognized breed only. and duly re gistered in a boo k of rec ord reco gnized by the Sec retary of Agriculture for that breed : Provided further, That the certificate req u ired Pedigree certificate of such record and pedigree of such animal shall be produced and submitted to the Department of Agriculture, duly authenticated by the proper custod ian of such book of record, togeth er with an affidavit of the owner, agent, or importer that the animal imported is the iden- tical animal described in said certificate of record and pedigree . Regulations to deter . The Secretary of Agriculture may prescribe such regulations as may mine purity be required for dete rmining the puri ty of br eeding an d the id entity of such animal : And provided further, That the collectors of customs of fic ial de termine - shall require a certificate from the Department of Agriculture stating ti on . that such animal is pure bred of a recognized breed and duly reg- istered in a book of record recognized by the Secretary of Agriculture for that breed . (b) The Secretary of the Treasury may prescribe such additional tio nSforcing reguia- regulations as may be required for the strict enforcement of this pr ovision . (c) Horses, mules, asses, cattle, sheep, and other domestic animals Domestic animals temporary crossing straying across the boundary line into any foreign country, or frontier and returning . driven across such boundary line by the owner for temporary pasturage purposes only, together with their offspring, shall be dutiable unless brought back to the United States within eight mon ths, in which cas e they s hall be free of duty, und er regul ations to be prescribed by the Secretary of the Treasury : And provided t d eal ication ex- further , That the provisions of this Act shall apply to all such animals as have been imported and are in quarantine or otherwise in the cus tody of c ustoms o r other officers of the United St ates at the dat e of the taking effect of this Act . PAR. 1607. Ani mals and poult ry, broug ht in to t he Un ited Stat es - Animals temporarily brought in for breeding, temporarily for a period not exceeding six months, for the purpose exhibition, etc. of breeding, exhibition, or competition for prizes offered by any Bond required. agricultural, polo, or racing association ; but a bond shall be given in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the T eams of imm i- Treasury ; also teams of animals, including their harness and tackle, grants . an d the wa gons or o ther veh icles ac tually o wned by persons e migrat- ing from foreign countries to the United States with their families, and in actual use for the purpose of such emigration, under such regulations as the Secretary of the Treasury may prescribe ; and Wild animal- . not for wild animals and birds intended for exhibition in zoological collec- tions for scientific or educational purposes, and not for sale or profit .
