GATHER THE ROADSIDE FLOWERS.
O! gather the roadside flowers,Though life be a thorny way;   There spring at our feet,   With fragrance sweet,Bright blossoms wherever we stray; Then gather the roadside flowers,O! gather the roadside flowers.
O! gather the roadside flowers,A word, a look, a smile;   These all can give,   'Tis the way to live,Our toils and our ills to beguile:Then gather the roadside flowers,O! gather the roadside flowers.
O! gather the roadside flowers,Of Hope, and Trust, and Love;   Tend them with care,   For fruit they bear In the gardens of God above:Then gather the roadside flowers,O! gather the roadside flowers.
O! gather the roadside flowers,Not long may we linger here;   For shining bands,   With outstretched hands,Are calling in words of cheer—Come, gather our roadside flowers,Then gather the roadside flowers,O! gather the roadside flowers.
