(1891–1968)

Arthur Oscar Freudenberg (1891-1968) operated a typewriter repair shop, he was a real estate agent, and he was an insurance broker. His biography appeared in History of the Municipalities of Hudson County, New Jersey, 1630-1923. The Freudenberg family papers are archived at the Jewish Museum Berlin.

Death of his wife. "Maria (Mae) (nee Winblad) of Jersey City March 7 1987 wife of the late Arthur O., beloved mother of Mrs. Naida Van Deusen, Mrs. Sally Norton and Mrs. Helen Brindley; sister of the late Anton and Otto Winblad. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren."
His death. "Arthur Freudenberg, 76, of 329 Summit Avenue, Jersey City, a Hoboken native; operated a real estate firm on Central Avenue in Jersey City."

Freudenberg is president and John White, secretary, of the Jersey City firm."

Death of his mother. "Mrs. Eloise Freudenberg, a Gold Star mother, died at her home, 92 Jefferson Avenue, Saturday from a heart ailment, she was 74. Born in New York she had lived in Hudson City the past 35 years. Two of her sons went to war, one of them being killed while in action in France. Surviving are eight children: Mrs. Ada Kohlman, Charles, Clara, Arthur, Richard, Eugene, Ralph and Mrs. Grace Sanford."
Death of his maternal grandmother. "She is survived by two daughters Mrs. Eloise Freudenberg of Jersey City and Mrs. Anna Lowe of Rye; and two sons Arthur Lindauer and Le Baron Lindauer of Rye."
Arrested for stealing rent from a building he did not own. "Arthur Freudenberg, formerly realty operator with offices at the Transfer Station, Union City, was held in $1,000 bail for the grand on charge of collecting rents by fraud, when arraigned in Bayonne Police Court yesterday before Recorder Cain. Freudenberg's arrest was on complaint of Mrs. Sophie Wilczek, of 96 Prospect avenue. She claimed he had obtained an assignment of the rents of an apartment house at 538 Madison street, West New York, by fraud. She said when she went to collect the rents she was told by tenants that Freudenberg had already collected in many instances."
Arrested for stealing from a client. "It developed that Freudenberg is under indictment for defrauding Mrs. Sarah Kane of 96 Stuyvesant Avenue of some $2,500 in a real estate deal."
"He is a son of Maximillian and Eloise (Lindauer) Freudenberg, the father a native of Germany, the mother of New York State."
Death of his father. "Funeral services for Max Freudenberg, who died on Sunday of heart trouble, will be held from his late residence 63 Concord street, Jersey City, this afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. Charles C. Cain of Simpson M.E. Church will officiate. Interment will be in Flower Hill Cemetery. The deceased was in his sixty-third year and had lived in Jersey City for several years. In addition to his wife Eloise (nee Lindauer), he is survived by several children."
Death of his brother. "The young hero is survived by his parents Max and Eloise Freudenberg; three sisters, Ada, Clara and Grace, and by four brothers, Arthur, Eugene, Ralph and Richard, the last named being in the service at Camp Meade, Maryland."
