Philippine National Anthem
[edit]Lupang Hinirang Official version used since 1956
English Anthems
[edit]Since there are Welsh and Scottish anthems, why not English ones? Jerusalem comes to mind. And Land of Hope and Glory. --82.31.9.204 17:47, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Use Latin alphabets for article names
[edit]We have some article names in non-Latin scripts. How about converting them?--Jusjih 05:00, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think it would be best if we had the anthems at the English translation of their name, leaving the non-English title as a redirect. Jude (talk) 05:42, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree, since different translations of the anthem may have different names, unless there is a standard name by which the anthem is known in English. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 20:53, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
where's the french anthem?
[edit]La marseilles?
Strictly for decoration
[edit]I wouldn't mind seeing 20px flags beside the country names, crossposted from the WikiCommons SVG files. Just a thought. Sherurcij (talk) (CRIMINALS ARE MADE, NOT BORN) 07:13, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- Done, only 12 years later lol —Beleg Tâl (talk) 04:09, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
Revision and overhaul
[edit]I am planning to overhaul this page entirely. Please see User:Beleg Tâl/Sandbox/National anthems for a current draft. Please let me know if there are any objections. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 13:10, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

National anthems of non-sovereign states
[edit]I have included anthems of non-sovereign states and territories generally if they are included at http://nationalanthems.info . I think that territories that have disputed or historical independence, or strong independence movements, or identify as a "nation" (like Quebec or any of the First Nations of Canada) and so forth should be included.
I also have experimented a little bit and it seems to me that my current method of putting all of these under the parent sovereign state, with a {{see also}} redirect under the sub-territory, is the most user-friendly way to accomplish this. I am open to other suggestions. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 04:14, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- Just to clarify this a bit:
- Putting all the anthems under the top-level parent country allows us to use far less "see also" links, and keeps this portal much easier to navigate and use. Observe:
- All under parent country: Acadia, Newfoundland, and Quebec all have links to Canada, and Canada lists all of their anthems and does not need to link back. Result: 3 "see also" links, and all relevant information for Canada is in one place.
- All separated out: Acadia, Newfoundland, and Quebec all have links to Canada; Canada has links to Acadia, Newfoundland, and Quebec; Quebec and Acadia have links to each other. Result: 8 "see also" links, and the relevant information for Canada is spread out across four different sections.
- There are a couple of places where this doesn't work. For example:
- Assyria and Kurdistan are subnational, but don't correspond to a single parent nation. So their anthems are listed on their own nation, and they link to all the other relevant parent nations.
- Korea and Yugoslavia are former parent nations that don't correspond to a single modern nation. So their anthems are listed as their own nations, and they link to all the other relevant modern nations.
- Putting all the anthems under the top-level parent country allows us to use far less "see also" links, and keeps this portal much easier to navigate and use. Observe:
