Was there not a time in the past when the human being was nothing to even be mentioned? |
Hal ata AAala al-insani heenun mina alddahri lam yakun shay-an mathkooran
|
076:002 |
We have created the human from a seed that is mixed, We test him, so We made him hear and see. |
Inna khalaqna al-insana min nutfatin amshajin nabtaleehi fajaAAalnahu sameeAAan baseeran
|
076:003 |
We have guided him to the path, either to be thankful or to reject. |
Inna hadaynahu alssabeela imma shakiran wa-imma kafooran
|
076:004 |
We have prepared for the rejecters chains and collars and a blazing Fire. |
Inna aAAtadna lilkafireena salasila waaghlalan wasaAAeeran
|
076:005 |
As for the pious, they will drink from a cup which has the scent of musk. |
Inna al-abrara yashraboona min ka/sin kana mizajuha kafooran
|
076:006 |
A spring from which the servants of God drink, it gushes forth abundantly. |
AAaynan yashrabu biha AAibadu Allahi yufajjiroonaha tafjeeran
|
076:007 |
They fulfill their vows, and they fear a Day whose consequences are wide-spread. |
Yoofoona bialnnathri wayakhafoona yawman kana sharruhu mustateeran
|
076:008 |
And they give food out of love to the poor and the orphan and the captive. |
WayutAAimona alttaAAama AAala hubbihi miskeenan wayateeman waaseeran
|
076:009 |
"We only feed you for the sake of God; we do not desire from you any reward or thanks." |
Innama nutAAimukum liwajhi Allahi la nureedu minkum jazaan wala shukooran
|
076:010 |
"We fear from our Lord a Day, which will be horrible and difficult." |
Inna nakhafu min rabbina yawman AAaboosan qamtareeran
|
076:011 |
So God shielded them from the evil of that Day, and He cast towards them a look and a smile. |
Fawaqahumu Allahu sharra thalika alyawmi walaqqahum nadratan wasurooran
|
076:012 |
And He rewarded them for their patience with paradise and silk. |
Wajazahum bima sabaroo jannatan wahareeran
|
076:013 |
They are reclining in it on raised couches, they do not have in it excessive sun nor bitter cold. |
Muttaki-eena feeha AAala al-ara-iki la yarawna feeha shamsan wala zamhareeran
|
076:014 |
And the shade is close upon them, and the fruit is hanging low within reach. |
Wadaniyatan AAalayhim thilaluha wathullilat qutoofuha tathleelan
|
076:015 |
And they are served upon with bowls of silver and glasses of crystal. |
Wayutafu AAalayhim bi-aniyatin min fiddatin waakwabin kanat qawareera
|
076:016 |
Crystal laced with silver, measured accordingly. |
Qawareera min fiddatin qaddarooha taqdeeran
|
076:017 |
And they are given to drink in it from a cup which has the scent of ginger. |
Wayusqawna feeha ka/san kana mizajuha zanjabeelan
|
076:018 |
A spring therein which is called 'Salsabeel'. |
AAaynan feeha tusamma salsabeelan
|
076:019 |
And they are encircled with eternal children. If you see them you will think they are pearls which have been scattered about. |
Wayatoofu AAalayhim wildanun mukhalladoona itha raaytahum hasibtahum lu/lu-an manthooran
|
076:020 |
And if you look, then you will see a blessing and a great dominion. |
Wa-itha raayta thamma raayta naAAeeman wamulkan kabeeran
|
076:021 |
They will have garments of fine green silk, and necklaces and bracelets from silver, and their Lord will give them a cleansing drink. |
AAaliyahum thiyabu sundusin khudrun wa-istabraqun wahulloo asawira min fiddatin wasaqahum rabbuhum sharaban tahooran
|
076:022 |
"This is the reward for you, and your struggle is appreciated." |
Inna hatha kana lakum jazaan wakana saAAyukum mashkooran
