Words by G. Howell-Baker Music by E. Edgar Evans
Amen
The God of Day, Thy sunshine send,
Thy starry night, and hush to sleep
Each rising storm, that peace may be
Upon the deep.
No warring clouds or ruthless gale
Disturb the calm of summer seas
No warrior billow crowned with foam
Defy the breeze.
No bank or rock they passage bar,
No misty hand efface the light
That shines upon the heaving deep
Each day and night.
For He, who slept amid the storm
Upon the sea of Gallillee
Awoke & poured His own sweet sleep
Upon The Sea.
Thy Presence, Lord upon the deep!
Grant us this prayer to be Thy will,
And breathe these words upon the winds
O peace, be still!
The End.
