Did a minor edit to revert the vandalisms done by 219.94.77.250.

He had asked questions like "Where is Putrajaya" and added Mahatir bin Badawi in the Schedule 1 list.

Suggestion for separation of text into pages to ease reading. Can someone provide the coding for the notice or help in doing so?

2022 Amendments

[edit]

I have made amendments based on this 2022 Act of Parliament: https://lom.agc.gov.my/ilims/upload/portal/akta/outputaktap/1741962_BI/Act%20A1663.pdf Pakbelang (talk) 12:19, 20 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Pakbelang: This is the 1957 edition of the constitution, not the 2022 edition. Or put another way, we're not a law database; we host previously published texts (of all kinds, but primarily books), as they were published. Xover (talk) 12:32, 20 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Xover In that case, why is the title of the document "FEDERAL CONSTITUTION As at 1 November 2010"? Pakbelang (talk) 05:31, 21 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Pakbelang: Presumably because other users have been confused in a similar manner. The point is that we host works as they were published, and do not amend them. If the Parliament of Malaysia publishes an Act whose purpose is to amend the constitution, then we can host that Act as it was published (and as an Act). But a consolidated Constitution (with subsequent amendments) is only eligible if previously published. And it need not be by the actual Parliament, so long as the publisher is reputable and the licensing is compatible (a third-party translation will often be copyrighted). We can also host multiple editions of a work, so we can host both the 1957 Constitution and the 2010 Constitution (and whatever others there may be), so long as they were previously published in that form. @Pakbelang: I did a little research. The text that was at this page seems to possibly be the 2010 reprint of the Constitution, because a later contributor had tried to do the same thing as you: update the text. The text originally there was an indeterminate edition published sometime after 1984 (based on the amendments noted in the source). I am as yet not sure what to do about this text since it is very unclear what edition of the Constitution it represents. It is possible it will have to be deleted.
The 2010 text also exists at the misnamed page Amendments to the Constitution of Malaysia, which I will at some point move to Constitution of Malaysia (2010). And the page at Constitution of Malaysia will be converted to a versions page.
The text you wanted to add can be added at Constitution (Amendment) (No. 3) Act 2022, Proofread against the source PDF, since the amendment act is itself an individual work. If a consolidated version of the Constitution that includes these amendments has been published, that version can be added at Constitution of Malaysia (2022).
