Two items with this translation:
- I'm pretty sure it should say "you waved the banner of free men" - "waiving the banner" would presumably mean setting it aside.
- Should the final paragraph say "all the available resources" (plural)? Or does the original Spanish hint more toward the singular "resource"?

- @Peyre: Wikisource hosts texts which were already published, and these texts are hosted exactly as they were published. Unfortunately the contributor who added this text to Wikisource did not mention the source and so it is difficult to check. I am going to mark it as unsourced and maybe we should consider whether it can stay here too. If you know of any other published copyright-free publication of this text, we can replace it. --Jan Kameníček (talk) 18:18, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

- I've been looking into this topic recently. I've never edited anything on wikipedia, so I don't know the exact protocol here, hence my reply here. In reading up on this topic, I found a different translation (similar in substance) of this declaration. The translation is on page 469, under citation 27 of Hubert Howe Bankroft's History of California: 1825-1840. https://books.google.com/books?id=MgITAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA469#v=onepage&q&f=false
- Again, I'm not familiar with any of the editing protocol, or anything relating to wikipedia other than reading articles. I hope you or another editor will be able to do what is necessary with this info. JamSev (talk) 01:50, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
