Linking to index section from table of contents

[edit]

@TE(æ)A,ea.: you recently reverted my changes that added a link to the index in volume 6 to the ToCs in volumes 1-5. I personally think this link is useful. The main reason is that the volume 6 index covers volumes 1 through 5, while volumes 7 and 8 have their own dedicated indices (China volume 9 also has a dedicated index, while volumes 10-12 share an index). If it were a single index for volumes 1 through 8, it might make sense to include it here, but since it's not, it's much easier to draw the conclusion that there just is no index (especially since the volume 6 ToC doesn't say it covers the other volumes, though I've added a note on the index section itself). A secondary reason is that there are other sections in later volumes that aren't linked in the table of contents. Volume 6 has several sections that are part of the appendix that I chose to transclude separately (so that the appendix was endnotes only, which is a bit ambiguous), and volumes 6 (the war appendix), 7, and 8 and China volume 9 have other sections that also aren't mentioned, so an extra ToC row doesn't seem that out of place. --Pokechu22 (talk) 03:24, 3 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
