Quotes

[edit]

Curly or straight? Both have been used, with curly present in ~6084 pages and straight present in ~240360 pages (from a quick regex search, did a better one. still more straight). — Alien  3

@Alien333 Wikisource:Style guide#Formatting says "It is recommended to use "straight" quotes in works where there are a large number of contributing editors, since consistent use of “curly” quotes may be difficult to achieve," so maybe straighten the curly ones? • It's more or less finished anyways (validating excepted), so there won't be a large number of contributing editors. That aside, the curly quotes are a minority anyways, so I'll replace them.
  • On {{new texts}}, there should only be works that are completed, meaning no inexistant/not proofread/problematic pages, so you shouldn't have added this until the images were done (I did them).
  • Is there any particular reason you put the {{standardise}} tag? I could help.

Got it, and thanks a lot for your work. About the tag: not really, I only added it because I'm new to Wikisource, so I might have messed up somewhere. But there doesn't seem to be any issues now, so I suppose it can be removed. '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talkcontribs) 06:49, 17 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
All quotes now straightened.
From a spot check of 17 pages, I found no stylistic issues, only the occasional scanno, but that happens to everyone, so I'm removing the tag. — Alien  3
