I believe that this may have come from Routledge's late 1800s reprint, which is characterized with a red spine, marbled covers, a list of other books in their "Pocket Routledge" series, illustrations by the esteemed Mr. Leech and Mr. Cruikshank, and an impossibility to find second-hand online.
