[edit]Wow, thank you for this detailed account of how to add bibliographic data to Wikidata through Zotero and Quickstatements! Is there a reason that WikiCite wasn't mentioned by name in the article? Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 19:58, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- Pinging @Ederporto, @Prburley, @Joalpe:. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 08:15, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Rachel Helps (BYU): Thank you for your comment. I am glad you enjoyed the chapter! We had a paragraph on WikiCite and prior initiatives on open citations but had to remove it due to size constraints. Yet, though this work is not directly connected to WikiCite it has an obvious affinity with it. Do you think not mentioning WikiCite by name is a major issue? --Joalpe (talk) 16:34, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Joalpe, I don't think it's a major issue; I just see no reason not to mention it. To me, the objective of adding bibliographic data to Wikidata is the hope that they can be used as citations on Wikidata or Wikipedia (which if it happens, will be through WikiCite). But adding data to Wikidata can be a goal in itself. I also understand that the goals of academic publishing are different from mine. Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 17:04, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
