This template exists to create a small amount of padding (slightly narrower than a standard space) between two single quotation marks. E.g.:

‘This is the one he gave me,’

The .2em width is enough for the reader to see how the first divides from the second , but narrow enough that they're not distracted.

Note: the only use found so far (as of 2022) is to preserve a typographic error, which should have been a double quotation mark followed by a single quotation mark (‘).
