Template:Annotate QID
Appearance
This template uses Lua: |
Annotate QID is a template for annotating non-linked terms using Wikidata QIDs. It's used in this paragraph!
Usage
[edit]{{Annotate QID|WikidataQID|Text}}
Shortcut:
{{AQID|WikidataQID|Text}}
or:
{{aqid|WikidataQID|Text}}
Purpose
[edit]Allows names of people (who are not linked on Wikisource as authors, to a portal page, or to Wikipedia) and other objects or concepts, to be semantically marked up with the corresponding Wikidata QID.
On applicable systems, a tooltip displays the English-language Wikidata label (or mul
("multilingual") label if no English label is present) and description.
An about
attribute in the HTML gives the full "entity" URI of the Wikidata item, for added semantic richness.
Examples
[edit]{{AQID|Q27478536|John Moss}}
renders as:
- John Moss
with the HTML source being:
<span about="https://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q27478536" title="John Moss: English banker, railway promoter and slaveowner (1782–1858)">John Moss</span>
Other examples
[edit]{{AQID|Q27478536|Arbitrary text}}
- Arbitrary text
{{AQID|Q131253392|John Dinsdale}}
- John Dinsdale (Item has only a mul label)
Why is this useful?
[edit]Consider:
- John Moss, John Moss and John Moss
