Usage
[edit]This template is roughly equivalent to the built-in [[w:1|2]] syntax for linking to English Wikipedia. The second parameter (which is optional) changes the appearance of the link.
It could be helpful when the pipe character "|" might interfere with conditional statements (see Conditional tables).
Example
[edit]{{w|United States}}(United States) is equivalent to[[w:United States|]](United States).
{{w|United States (album)}}(United States (album)) is equivalent to[[w:United States (album)|United States (album)]].- That is, this template does not strip trailing parentheticals in the same way as the built-in
[[w:United States (album)|]](United States).
