Rafael De Szalatnay, 79

EnglewoodRafael De Szalatnay, of 225 Cambridge Avenue here, died yesterday at Bergen Pines County Hospital Paramus, after a short illness. He was 79.

Born in Czechoslovakia, Mr. Szalatnay came to the United States in 1914. He had lived in Englewood for 21 years.

He was a retired publisher of children’s books with his firm in New York City. For many years he was a member of the local Civil Defense organization.

He is survived by his wife Wilma, and brother, Benjamin, of Mereno, Italy.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 P. M. at the First Presbyterian Church on East Palisade Avenue here. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Myers Funeral Home, 129 Engle Street, here.
