Inno di Garibaldi (Garibaldi's Hymn)
by Luigi Mercantini

This Italian patriotic song was commissioned by Italian general Giuseppe Garibaldi as the official battle song of the Hunters of the Alps volunteer corps. It was written in 1858 and set to music by Alessio Olivieri. It became very popular and was often used as an alternative to the national anthem after the unification of Italy.
