Kelkar, Narasimha Chintaman, B.A., LL.B., Editor, the “Maharatta”, Poona; s. of Mr. C. L. Kelkar; b. Modimbe, Sholapur district, 1872; educ: Miraja High School, and Rajaram and Deccan Colleges, Poona; practiced as a pleader in Satara till 1896; became Editor of the “Maharatta”, 1897; was Editor of the “Kesari”, 1897-98; severed connection with the latter, and again took it up, January 1910. Publications: History of Ireland; Life of Garibaldi; Essay on Wit and Humour, (all in Marathi); also 5 dramas, i.e., the Pretender; Chendragupta; Quarrel between Krishna and Arjuna; Amatya Madhar; and Sant Bhanudas.
