Caroline Maud, d. of late Admiral Robert Coote, 1884; joined service in the Army. 1875; served in Afghan War,1879 80: medal; was D.A.A.G. in Burma; A.A.G. at Wellington; second in command at Aldershot, 1897; second in command of First Battalion, India, 1899; commanded the First Devons in South Africa, 1839; in Command of a column in South Africa, 1901; (Queen’s medal with three clasps King’s medal with two clasps); A.D.C., to King, Brevet Colonel); A.A.G. South Eastern District, 1902; D.A.G. India, 1903; Commandant of Nasirabad Brigade, 1906; Major-General, and A.D.C. to King, 1907; Commandant, East Lancashire Division since 1910.
