Pestonji Jehangir, Khan Bahadur (1887), C.I.E. (1882); b. 1831; belongs to a family which was honored by the Moghul Emperors with the grant of Jagirs in Surat and the Titles of “Nekshant Khan” and “Iabyar Khan”; the family is described by Sir John Malcolm as the “Khan’s of the Empire”.
