Petit, Bomanji-Dinshaw, Director, Bank of Bombay; b. 1859; s. of late Sir Dinshaw Manockji Petit; educ: St. Xavier’s College, Bombay; joined business, 1878; Director of many large Commercial concerns; took an active part in getting the New Factory Act passed; his donations to charity amount to more than 10 lakhs; built a Library and Public Hall at Mahableshwar at a cost of Rs. 25,000 contributed a lakh of rupees to the London School of Tropical Medicine; gave a donation of 6 lakhs for founding a Hospital for the members of the Parsi Community.
