Ramnad, Raja of; Raja Rajeswara Sethupathi, also known as Muthu Ramalinga Sethupathi Avergal; a Palaigar whose ancestors were of considerable help to the British in quelling disturbances in the southern part of the Madras Presidency; closely related to the Zemindar of Sivaganga; a liberal and enlightened Zemindar much interested in the welfare of his ryots; contributed Rs. 5,000 for a lying-in-ward in the Caste and Gosha Hospital, Madras, 1890; title of Raja is personal.
