KIN'IC, or QUIN'IC, ACID (from Quichua kina, quina, bark, quinine). C7H12O6. A substance allied to benzoic acid, and occurring in cinchona bark, the coffee-bean, and other vegetable products. It is soluble in water and crystallizes in large colorless prisms.
