Announcement of the Council for Democratic Reform
No 22
Re: Requesting local political groups to cease their movements

Whereas the Council for Democratic Reform has imposed the Martial Law since the 19th day of September 2549 Buddhist Era and has issued the Announcement No 7 dated the 20th day of September 2549 Buddhist Era, Re: Prohibition of political assembly, by which political gatherings or meetings of five or more persons at any place are prohibited, but there are now movements from bodies of persons, subdistrict administrative organisations, provincial administrative organisations, and other organisations which intend to support or oppose to the activities of the Council for Democratic Reform and the said actions may give rise to problems and obstacles to the public administration of the State and further lead to disharmony amongst the society; therefore, the Council for Democratic Reform hereby announces that all organisations shall cease their political movements and gatherings until the situations of the Country return to normalcy, which will later be announced by the Council for Democratic Reform.

In this respect, whoever contravenes this will be punished rigorously.

Announced on the 24th day of September 2549 BE
General Sonthi Boonyaratglin
Chief of the Council for Democratic Reform
