Being the 35th year of the present reign
Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramin Maha Bhumibol Adulyadej gives a great royal command by which He orders with His pleasure that it be announced as follows:
Whereas it is appropriate to amend the law on immigration;
Therefore, by and with the advice and consent of the National Assembly, He orders with His gracious pleasure that the following Act be enacted:
Section1.This Act is called the "Immigration Act (No. 2), 2523 BE".
Section2.This Act shall come into force from the day following the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.
Section3.The following stipulation shall be inserted in (1) of section 12 of the Immigration Act, 2522 BE, as paragraph 3:
"Visa stamping according to (1) shall be subject to the fees designated by a ministerial regulation".
Section4.The fees in the schedule "rate of fees, costs of proceedings, and other expenses" at the end of the Immigration Act, 2522 BE, shall be repealed and replaced by the following stipulation:

(5) | Application for permission to reenter the Kingdom according to section 39 | |||||

(6) | Application for permission to take up residence in the Kingdom according to section 45 | |||||
not exceeding | 2,000 | baht per person | ||||
(7) | Residence certificates according to section 47 or section 51 | |||||
not exceeding | 50,000 | baht each | ||||
For a residence certificate applicant who is the spouse or child under the age of majority of an alien with residence in the Kingdom or of a Thai national | ||||||

(8) | Evidence for notification of leaving the Kingdom, for use in reentry according to section 50(1) | |||||

Note: The grounds for promulgation of this Act are as follows: Since the Immigration Act, 2522 BE, requires passports or passport substitutes to be stamped with visas but does not require fees for passport visa stamping, etc, to be collected in line with the practice universally observed at present, it is appropriate to amend the law on immigration in order to allow the collection of the said fees. It is therefore necessary to set this Act up.
