Prayer 9

Glorification of the Great Life and the Uthras

Mark Lidzbarski3807036Mandaïsche Liturgien — Prayer 91920Wikisource
IX.
Lifting up the eyes,
lifting up the waves of the countenance
toward the place that is all
gates of splendor, light and glory,
splendor and beauty,
splendor and honor,
toward the dwelling place,
which is all luminaries,

I adore, glorify, and praise
the mighty alien life,
the second life,
the third life,
Jōfin-Jōfafin,
Sām,
the well-kept Mānā,
the vine that is all life,
and the great tree that is all healings.
I adore, glorify, and praise
the dear, well-kept place,
the hidden, guarded Mānās,
the Lord of greatness from the hidden place, from a hidden Place,
Pihtā,
... Kuštā
and faith.
I adore, glorify and praise
Sām-Smīr,
the great Splendor of the first life,
the son of the great, first life,
who pondered and realized and desires His own.
Above the waves of the water rests his Škīnā.
The Kannā of the souls that came out of him will rejoice and embrace him
on the final day when the souls depart from their bodies,
and they will ascend and behold the outer ether and the light dwelling.
I adore, glorify and praise
the great shining beings
and the mighty, great light beings.
I adore, glorify and praise
Piriawis,
the great Jordan of the first life, who is all healings.
I adore, glorify and praise
Jōšamīn the Pure,
who dwells by the treasures of water and by the mighty upper springs of light.
I adore, glorify and praise
the life
that came from life
and the Kuštā
that was from time immemorial in the beginning.
I adore, glorify and praise
Jōkabar-Zīwā,
the messenger of life and the word of the first men of proven righteousness.
I adore, glorify and praise
Abathur,
the ancient, high, hidden, kept, who is hidden and kept high above.
At the gate of the house of life a throne is founded for him.
He sits there, while the scales are set up before him, weighing works and reward.
He sees and recognizes what the worlds and aeons do.
I worship, glorify and praise
Mandā d-Haijē, the Lord of healings,
the man whom life called and commissioned to heal the tribe of souls.
He strips them of their darkness and clothes them with light.
He lifts them up and shows them the essence of the great peace of life,
in the place where the spirits and souls of our ancestors dwell,
clothed with splendor, covered with light,
while the great peace of life is before them.
I adore, glorify and praise
Šilmai and Nidbai,
the two Uthras, the messengers of the Mandā d-Haijē
who are appointed over the great Jordan of life,
who perform the great baptism, of light.

And life is victorious.
