Chap. XXIII.—An Act for the relief of James Crawford.
Land purchase confirmed.Be it enacted, &c., That James Crawford be, and he is hereby confirmed in the purchase of the west half of section number twenty-nine, in township number seven, of range number two, in the district of lands offered for sale at Steubenville: Provided, That the said James Crawford shall complete the payment of the purchase money for the land contained in the south-west quarter of the aforesaid section, at the price per acre, and on the terms and conditions specified in the certificate of the register of the land office, for the west half of said section, bearing date April fourth, one thousand eight hundred and eleven; and shall also complete the payment for the north-west quarter of said section, at the price of eight dollars an acre. The instalments of the purchase money for the said north-west quarter shall be considered as due and becoming due on the respective days specified for making payment in the aforesaid certificate of the register; and the sum of three hundred and twenty dollars, paid on account of the purchase money of the said north-west quarter, and which became forfeited by non-payment of part of the purchase money, shall, by the register and receiver of public moneys for the said district, be placed to the credit of the said James Crawford, and be considered as part of the purchase money for the said north-west quarter section; and the said James Crawford, his heirs, or assigns, shall be entitled to a patent for the land contained in the west half of the aforesaid section, on his completing the payment of the purchase money, according to the provisions of this act.
