Chap. XXIX.An Act for the relief of Lewis Tousard.

Allowance to Lewis Tousard.Be it enacted, &c., That the secretary of the treasury be, and he is hereby authorized to pay to Lewis Tousard, late lieutenant-colonel, commandant of the second regiment of artillerists and engineers, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of six hundred and seventy-five dollars and fifty-five cents, being in full payment and adjustment, and to be considered as a final settlement of all accounts between the United States and the said Lewis Tousard, except only the pay and emoluments due to him by the paymaster of the regiment lately under his command: Provided, 'That nothing herein contained shall be construed to sanction the conduct of any person who has made advances of money not authorized by law.
