Sources

[edit]

Hi. Similarly to the Wikipedias we need to provide citations for their additions, we need to provide the sources for works. This also applies to translations where the community needs to know that both the original work AND the translation are both out of copyright. For instance, Russian declaration of war against Japan (1904) is out of copyright for the original proclaimed author, however, any translation will have its own copyright, and that needs to known. So providing the source is important when making a contribution that is not supported by a scan of the text itself. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:50, 4 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Errors corrected

[edit]

I see from this edit that errors were corrected in a document you uploaded. However, Wikisource does not "correct" published documents. If there is a spelling error, we can use {{SIC}} to indicate what the source said versus what it should say. But we do not alter the document, even if it contains errors. --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:49, 23 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
