Proofreading

[edit]

Proofreading on Wikisource includes all the diacriticals (accents, dots, carons, etc.) as well as all the italics, bolding, etc. On Page:The Advaita philosophy of Śaṅkara.pdf/1 there are still many untranscribed diacriticals, and the italics were not all complete. A page should not be marked as "proofread" when there are still so many differences from the original text. --EncycloPetey (talk) 14:59, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@EncycloPetey: Thank you very much for your concern. Yes, I am aware of it, but actually I don't know how to write it. As I told you, I am new here. Can you please write it down for now (for page no. 1). So that, next time I will keep it in mind. Thanks. -Gazal world (talk) 15:05, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I don't know what you are asking me to write. What I said is that words like Śaṅkara must have the Ś and , instead of S and n, when the original text has accents, dots, or other diacriticals. You will have to enter those letters yourself on each page. --EncycloPetey (talk) 16:23, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I notice you removed italics from some words that were in italics. Wikisource hosts copies that are faithful to the original. So, if a word was in italics in the scan, then it should be in italics on Wikisource. --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:07, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@EncycloPetey: Thanks for your concern and for guide me. Restoring it. -Gazal world (talk) 19:26, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
And don't hesitate to revert/correct my change. -Gazal world (talk) 19:50, 11 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Note that ŗ (r with a comma below it) is a character from the Latvian language. In texts from India, ṛ (r with a dot below it) is the correct character. --EncycloPetey (talk) 04:12, 12 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Maybe You Can Help

[edit]

Hi, Please check this book here, the text on page number 271 and 272 are not visible properly. Maybe in some library in Gujarat the book is available. It would be of great help. Thanks, --Abhinav619 (talk) 10:48, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Abhinav619: Doing…. -Gazal world (talk) 12:23, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thanks.--Abhinav619 (talk) 15:56, 15 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Abhinav619: My library has 1921 edition of the book. Is it same? The Wikisource book's index page says that the year is 1917. But it isn't mentioned into PDF. --Gazal world (talk) 11:27, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Gazal world: Sorry for responding after way too long. I wasn't active on the project for a while. @Hrishikes: can something happen. This book is almost complete otherwise.--Abhinav619 (talk) 04:28, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Abhinav619: -- You can proofread it by giving footer citation to this file: c:File:Indigo Labour in Behar.pdf -- Hrishikes (talk) 11:50, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thank You. This would be of great help. --Abhinav619 (talk) 12:19, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
