[edit]Using this in texts like a Shakespeare Folio or Quarto defeats the purpose of transcribing that edition. Modern editions will have made the switch. But displaying modernized orthography in a Folio edition hides the orthography of the original, and having that original orthography is the whole purpose of transcribing an early Folio or Quarto. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:46, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- Is it your opinion then that we should use ƈ and ſ where they are printed as such?
- Regardless the decision about what to use at that text, there is potential use for the template elsewhere, so deletion seems a silly route to pursue first. HTGS (talk) 23:26, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
I've started a discussion at WS:PD because this template is at odds with practice up to this point. That discussion will provide the community's opinion on the template. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:56, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
