Hi, two things:

  1. I have requested that the page "Author:Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi" be deleted, as it is a duplicate of Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi. If the deletion discussion determines that this author is appropriate page here, an admin will move your original page Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi to "Author:Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi"
  2. I have added a {{no license}} tag to Isim – e – Zat conference Speech. Please work out the copyright status of this speech quickly.

WS:COPYVIO#The Religion of God

[edit]

Hello, your input is requested on the page WS:COPYVIO#The Religion of God, as there are still some uncertainties about the copyright status of this text. Jude (talk) 00:16, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

OTRS/Releasing under GFDL,

[edit]

Hi, I thought I'd copy this from the copyvio page to your talk page.

If, and only if, the following conditions are met,
1) You are the copyright holder of this work and you can prove it.
2) You fully understand what releasing a work under the terms on the GNU Free Document license means. (It means that the work becomes freely redistributable by anyone, so long as the page history is kept intact; and it can be changed and edited by anyone. It can even be sold.)
then follow the directions here. They are mainly directed towards Wikipedia users requesting permission, but the "Declaration of consent for all enquiries" boilerplate is appropriate. Email it to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Jude (talk) 00:40, 13 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Licensing of texts under GFDL

[edit]

Further to my message of about two weeks ago, there has been no contact made with the OTRS permissions team regarding this. Unfortunately, unless my above instructions were followed, we cannot be certain that the text is GFDL licensed and therefore suitable for Wikisource. This has therefore been deleted.

If a form is mailed through, please drop a note on my talk page (or any Administrator's) to have the texts restored.

This includes The Religion of God and associated subpages, Menara-e-Noor and subpages, and Isim – e – Zat conference Speech. Thanks! Jude (talk) 07:25, 2 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Texts

[edit]

Ah, I understand.

Here's a bit of information: if you hold the copyright for this text, it can be released under the terms of the GNU Free Document License. If you represent a company or organisation that holds the rights to this text, and you have the full backing of that organisation (check with lawyers, whatever else), it can also be released by you.

However, please don't release the text if you do not fully understand the terms of the license. This doubly so if you are representing an organisation: confirm with your lawyers or whatever legal consul. You can read more about it on Wikipedia, w:GNU Free Documentation License.

If all of the above conditions are met, the instructions for the release can be found en:Wikipedia:Boilerplate_request_for_permission#Declaration_of_consent_for_all_enquiries here. Fill in the boilerplate as required, and email it to "permissions-en@wikimedia.org".

A few things to keep in mind:

1) I recall you mentioning somewhere that you were a member of an organisation that held the copyright to these works. It might be a good idea to include in the email some evidence of this. 2) Also on the note of two, send an email from an official email address, if you have one.

I think that's pretty much it. Please leave any further questions on my talk page, and please, do let me know when you've sent the email. I'll get in touch with the OTRS to confirms its receipt, and if there are no further issues, I'll restore the pages. Jude (talk) 09:47, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Any emails should go to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, not to me. Jude (talk) 11:25, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've spoken to one of the OTRS team, and they said they'd handle it and let me know if/when they decide the permission is adequate. Jude (talk) 08:00, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for the delay in responding. I've heard back frmo the OTRS team, and the permission's fine. I'll restore the texts, and update the templates as required. Jude (talk) 10:04, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
