Charles Sedelmayer - Catalog of 100 paintings

[edit]

hi, i have swept through a first pass at Index:Charles Sedelmayer - Catalog of 100 paintings - illustratedcata04gallgoog.djvu - next steps would be pagination; copyedit OCR; cleanup index in table form; croptool images at commons. don’t know how you would want to handle a table of contents. cheers. Thanks! I am not sure what the next steps are. I guess I would like to set it up so that the images are linked to the Wikidata items for the paintings. I haven't created items for all 100 paintings, only for the actual paintings I have been able to track. I added the wikisource index page to the item d:Q47485236. From the item you can click through to this wikisource page or to the Wikidata listeria list that has the linked paintings so far. Jane023 (talk) 19:44, 10 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
ok, well go to c:Commons:CropTool, and crop the pages with images (make a cropped copy of each one), and then you will have an image for wikidata artwork item. (and can incorporate into wikisource) it takes a little practice, but moves along. when we get images sorted, then we can make a work "Catalog of 100 paintings" in a readable form, like Woman of the Century. Well I would rathere use color images if possible, which significantly improves the viewing experience. How do I do that? Here is the Wikidata listeria list of the paintings I have matched so far: d:Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Catalog/Sedelmeyer 1897 catalogue of 100 paintings. (a b&w in the hand is worth 2 behind the paywall) i’m afraid that is a image search problem, along with provenance. but, should have enough to create an item for each, with a b&w placeholder. shouldn’t have to wait for proofread status, to grab the metadata. btw, that work appears to have 5th series of 1899, and 6th series of 1900, bound together for another 200.Page:Charles Sedelmayer - Catalog of 100 paintings - illustratedcata04gallgoog.djvu/147 Page:Charles Sedelmayer - Catalog of 100 paintings - illustratedcata04gallgoog.djvu/289 let me know if you want me to work it.
