Hi Laverock, I saw you adding lot of entries from the britanica encyclopedia to wikisource, I wanted to know if you have a script/tool which can automatically upload the contents... Even I am in a similar situation, I need to upload lot of preexisting works to wikisource.. EB1911 and article names

I have moved "Digestive organs (Pathology)" to "Digestive Organs". The part in brackets was not needed for disambiguation and it did not appear in boldface in the original scan. I have capitalized "organs" to follow the current common practice in Wikisource's EB1911, a practice that follows the capitalization in the original scans apparent from article links typeset in small caps.

I have moved "De Tabley, John Byrne Leicester Warren, 3rd Baron" to "De Tabley, John Byrne Leicester Warren", thereby removing the part ", 3rd Baron", which is not boldfaced in the original scan. I have done similar renames in the past, so omitting in page titles the parts that are not boldfaced in the original scan is the current convention in EB1911. --Dan Polansky (talk) 10:26, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Contents rendering

Just a curiosity... I noticed that when viewing this page (the Feb POTM) using the Google Chrome browser, I can see the three columns; but on the same computer, when viewed using Internet Explorer, it lists the contents in a single column. Does IE not recognize the columns-list notation?

Continuing footnotes -> ref name=... and ref follow=...

The developer of ProofreadPage recently suggested and made changes to the extension Cite, that now allows us to utilise a format of <ref name="xxx" on the first page and <ref follow="xxx" on each subsequent page that has a continuation of the original footnote. While it had been noted onsite of the change, in reflection it was not significant, so I recently updated Help:Proofread to reflect this change. — billinghurst sDrewth 15:20, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

In this edit I closed an older Wikisource:Proposed deletion. When I was doing the cleanup I saw your name on a few of the works. It looks like you might have been continuing on a path started by others, and subsequently abandoned as not the best approach, The decision was essentially made in September 2010, thought it was not officially closed and implemented until now. I notice that you have done a job of trying to recreate the information template from Commons here. We have it already, so to make it more obvious I have added it to the editing page for File:. Thanks. As an afterthought, would it be worth adding Category:Media not suitable for Commons as a sub-category to Category:Images or Category:Image maintenance? EB1911 and transclusion

I am looking at 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica/Dutens, Louis and just seeing a blank page, or at least no Britannica text. Most of the transcluded work I looked at for that and nearby pages wasn't working. Do you know what the problem is? Lately I haven't been using transclusion, and when I do, I use a different style (no double pound signs), so it is difficult for me to tell what is going on. Sorry, this wasn't your edit; it was the succeeding validation edit that messed things up, and I think that was less due to the editor than the editing software which auto substitutes the double pound signs, when Javascript is enabled anyway. Wikisource, the free digital library is moving towards better implementation of book management, proofreading and uploading. All language communities are very important in Wikisource. And some of those which seemed clear I would dispute. I mean, the second "o" and the "a" in Cŏ-lōm'bï-ā, the "a" in Cŏl-ō-rā'dō - really? I comfort myself that nobody is seriously going to base their pronunciation on this page. Or their view of the world in general on the rest of the book, come to that:

6. Turkey is an empire consisting of many different parts. It is like a body, the head of which is in Europe, the other parts elsewhere.

Turkey is, perhaps, the worst governed country in the world, but the people now have some share in the government.

The Emperor is called the Sultan. The land is fertile, but the farming is wretched. In fact, scarcely anything is well done in all the country.

Since the land is "fertile" there had to be reasons as to why the "farming (methods?) is wretched." The middle east as we have known it in our lifetime and before has been and remains to a great extent backwards in many ways and has been for many generations. Protests and wars have brought change to the people under rule of former "Dictators" which in the past were often the rulers and poverty was often due to the rulers, all of the economy was overseen by the rulers and rulers go by many titles such as "Sultan" —Maury (talk) 09:03, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

Beeswaxcandle seems to be the one who registers the awards, so you could ask him if there will be two this month.
