Sources

[edit]

We host two types of work at Wikisource. Works supported by a scan of the physical work, where we extract the text, see Wikisource:Proofread where the source is evident (note that this is our preferred means). Then we also host text only versions, and where that is the case we like to know the source of the work (whole heap of reasons). So would you be able to add the source data to the talk page, once done, please feel free to replace the {{no source}} with {{edition}} which will point to the talk page. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 06:51, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I noticed your link to Gutenberg and removed the no source tag. Strictly speaking, this edition is from the title at gutenberg, in a collected volume. Hope you can find the time to add more Lamb, we are sadly lacking his works. cygnis insignis 07:12, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
And my apologies for not noticing prior to my comment. — billinghurst sDrewth 09:45, 18 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Licence for On Being the Right Size?

[edit]

You state that the work was written in 1926, which being after 1923 means that we enter into a different copyright space with regard to the US, especially as the author died in 1964 which is 46 years ago. Was the work originally published in 1926, or just written, if just written, where and when was it published? Have you checked for a copyright renewal of the work in the US sources? — billinghurst sDrewth 04:04, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

It appears to have been published in Harpers in March of 1926. I have not checked for a copyright renewal of the work and could use guidance on how to do so. --Majrjejm (talk) 04:11, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I found more information. The essay was also included in Possible Worlds by J. B. S. Haldane, Copyright 1928 by Harper & Row. Again, I need guidance on researching current copyright information. If the work is still under copyright, I'll remove it. --Majrjejm (talk) 04:17, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
